#StrongerThan #ComePlay #GuthrieGreen
Thanks to all the lovely participants and flow artist.
Yesterday's Hoop Jam became a flow jam with Hoopers, Poi Spinners, and Staffers!
And thank you to Malala and all the girls who are fighting for their right to education.
We support you!
Jammin' June continues with Hoop Jams at Guthrie Green every Monday in July from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Casual, fun, FREE! Practice hoops provided as well as hoops for sale!
Today is Malala day, so in honor of her example to us all, I will have sign making materials at class tonight for anyone who wants to take a photo with their sign using Malala's hashtag: #StrongerThan _________
After being shot in the head by the Taliban for wanting to go to school and surviving, Malala and her father created the Malala Fund to help girls go to school all over the world. Today is her birthday and thus, Malala Day came to be.
Her hash tag examples are: #StrongerThan Violence, Poverty, Fear, but you will just fill in the blank for yourself... I'll have the art supplies that we need.
Here's a link to her website: http://malalafund.org/
and to a wonderful video of her speaking: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3rNhZu3ttIU&list=PLHOozHd3fvAFqozY4S19QA9Lxw2jh2V62
I hope to see you tonight!
Tulsa World News Spread
Thanks to Cory Young of Tulsa World News for an amazing spread in the Sunday Paper as well as here online, and to all the wonderful hoopers spinning circles of joy with Come Play! Check us out here:
Sasha Zeilig - Come Play brings All Together Art and a Hula Hoop Jam to Tulsa Roots Music from 2:30 - 6:00 p.m.
All Together Art:
Come Play will set up paints and large canvases in the middle of Guthrie Green. Even if you’ve never painted before, get inspired by the music, put on an artist's beret, pick up a paint br...ush, and bring out your inner artist by adding your touch to our large collaborative paintings with your fellow Tulsans.
Come Play’s Hula Hoop Jam:
Get your groove on, bring out your inner child, and try hula hooping. We’ll have hoops for kid size people and big sized people to try. Learn some new moves, show off your tricks, or just watch the entertainment.
Come Play’s interactive activities are FREE, child friendly, and fun for the whole family. Everyone can Come Play!
Please join Sasha Zeilig's - Come Play for Tulsa's free Earth Day celebration at Guthrie Green.
Be part of the Collective Collage by personalizing and adding your leaf or decorating our communal at tree with recycled goods and collage materials (provided).
Look for a large cardboard tree and Margaret Leighty in the park...
Come Play is all about free fun for everyone! Join in the creativity!
*Please share and invite your friends....
