Andrea Gardner, Period Priestess and Celebrationist, is Creatrix and Host of Period Parties- Celebrations for new Menstruators with the intention of embracing the Magic in our Moon, and the Power in our Womb.
As a facilitator, Andrea is gentle and expressive, creating an inclusive space that invites bravery, playfulness, and embodiment. She helps people be present by integrating the body’s sensations. Through her earnest humor, she promotes curiosity and acceptance. Her style results in a sacred container where participants feel safe to be fully expressed in rich group dialogue that is real and pleasure oriented.
She is an Ecstatic Dancer, Acro-Yogi, and earned her Nia White Belt and FreeDance Certification in 2019 in San Antonio, TX. As a Dance instructor, Andrea finds immense freedom in expression, particularly through her passionate, play-filled, “anything goes” style of dancing. She views dance as a way to express raw emotion to move through the body. She invites students to the freedom to express whatever and however, they want. Her somatic understanding of the body is ever-evolving and expanding through healing arts and movement modalities.
She is a co-facilitator of Come Plays’ Purple Circle - SexEd for Adults, an “intersectionally inclusive series of discussions that aims to increase overall pleasure of life, innerstanding of self, and comfort in relating to fellow humans.”
Andrea has ten years of experience coaching recreational and team Artistic Gymnastics, and practiced gymnastics herself for thirteen years. She served as an intern for Barbizon USA, modeling and acting school, empowering young women with confidence. She was also a camp counselor for many summers.
Andrea met life's challenges with resilience. The child of divorced parents, with mismanagement of family mental health, she struggled with eating disorders, perfectionism, and people-pleasing. It was in the gym where she discovered her love for teaching, the importance of play and laughter, deep gratitude and reverence for her body, and a love for collaborating with people on things like art, music, and more!
Andrea is a gifted, experienced and highly-trained facilitator. She loves working with teens because she still relates. She believes in the possibility of all people following their truth, trusting in the cycles of our bodies, and a pleasure-fied experience.
